Gebr. Heinemann wins retail concession for Mein Schiff 4 from TUI Cruises – all contracts for the

Hamburg, 4 June 2019. Heinemann is now also running the shops on TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 4. On 16 May, the Hamburg Travel Retailer officially opened the shop areas on the cruise ship. This was the day that Mein Schiff 4 started from Hamburg for its summer trips to Scandinavia; it travels the oceans of the world with its some 2,500 guests.

By taking over the retail space on board the Mein Schiff 4, Gebr. Heinemann is now the exclusive shop operator on all seven feel-good ships of the Mein Schiff fleet of TUI Cruises. The cooperation between the Hamburg shipping company and Gebr. Heinemann, which has been successful now for more than ten years, was extended for all ships until 2026.

"Our long-standing excellent cooperation with TUI Cruises has proven its worth. We have shown on all other ships operated by the shipping company that we have a profound understanding of the mostly German customers and know what they want. TUI Cruises' continued trust is truly an honour for us and we are delighted to be able to offer cruise guests on Mein Schiff 4 a diverse shopping experience on the world's oceans with numerous product innovations along with the ideal 'retailtainment'," says Ricarda Frenzel-Beyme, Director Cruise Liner at Gebr. Heinemann.

"One of TUI Cruises' goals is to thrill our guests with an attractive cruise experience. We share this challenging ambition with our business partners and regularly review our offerings. As one of our most renowned partners, Gebr. Heinemann has been awarded the contract for the retail business on Mein Schiff 4 and will thus be responsible in the long term for the shopping diversity on board the entire Mein Schiff fleet. We are delighted about the expansion of this trusting and professional cooperation,” says Carolin Bauer, Senior Product Manager at TUI Cruises.

The approximately 520 square metres of the "Neuer Wall" retail area are now operated by Gebr. Heinemann and are divided into four areas: one for perfume & cosmetics, one with textiles and accessories, one for the "Mein Schiff" merchandise collection, combined with toys and sweets, spirits and tobacco as well as a jeweller. The on-board shops extend over two decks and provide the perfect background for the passengers to shop and stroll.

On Deck 4, customers are offered an extensive selection of fashion in the 280 square metre shop "Feiner Zeitgeist", as well as fashion jewellery, leather goods, scarves and sunglasses in the same area in the shop "Sonnige Aussichten". Just opposite is the 83 square metre shop "Süßer Schnickschnack" and "Schöne Andenken" with a selection of toys, sweets, tobacco, spirits and the popular "Mein Schiff" merchandising goods. On Deck 5, the 87 square metre accessories shop "Goldene Momente", the watch and jewellery shop "Beste Zeiten", and the 65 square metre perfumery "Wohlige Düfte" attract visitors.

In contrast to the shops on the sister ships of the same construction, the furniture in the perfumery consists largely of personalised brand furniture, for example from the brands Chanel, Dior, Hugo Boss or Clarins. Minor design adjustments in the shops and the installation of some new furniture are planned for the next time the ship is dry-docked.
