FAR expands its fashion offering in the luxury segment: Gucci boutique opens at Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt, 5 June 2019. One of the most coveted luxury brands in the world is opening at Frankfurt Airport: From now on, a new Gucci boutique will complement the exclusive shopping experience available to passengers in the departure area of Terminal 1. This represents the completion of an extraordinary trio for FAR (Frankfurt Airport Retail), the joint venture by trading company Gebr. Heinemann and the airport’s operating company Fraport: After renowned Italian leather goods label Bottega Veneta opened a boutique in April 2018, and the French design house Saint Laurent Paris followed suit in April of this year, Gucci represents the third brand from the Kering Group that FAR has brought to Frankfurt Airport within a year. All three boutiques are located very close to one another in Terminal 1, Pier Z, Non-Schengen area.

“Gucci is one of the world’s best known and most influential trend and fashion brands in the luxury segment, and it’s capturing the attention of younger target groups as well with creatively designed bags and textile accessories,” says Jan Richter, Director Purchasing Fashion & Accessories at Gebr. Heinemann. “As part of our strategy for the category of Fashion & Accessories, we are reinforcing our cooperation with the leading luxury brands. The Kering Group is one of our global strategic partners here.”Dirk Mörchen, Managing Director at Frankfurt Airport Retail adds: “We are therefore particularly delighted that we have now completed the perfect ‘trilogy’ of Kering brands by incorporating Gucci into our portfolio at Frankfurt Airport and offering international passengers, who include a large number of Asian travellers with a great affinity for luxury brands, another top brand in this segment at this location.”

“Over the past few months we’ve celebrated some exciting new store openings and redesigns at Frankfurt Airport. The new Gucci boutique is an absolute highlight among these,” says Ute Pohl, Senior Vice President Retail at Fraport AG. “With Gucci, our portfolio of fashion stores at the airport will now once again include a luxury brand that translates tradition and zeitgeist into unique, style-defining designs. Strong, future-oriented concepts make airport shopping a special, extraordinary travel experience for our passengers.”

Gucci boutique: Leather goods and textile accessories covering 100 square metres
