Your vocational training programme
Over three years you will be trained as a Warehouse Logistics specialist. You will support a number of different departments and will become familiar with the complex interconnections within our Logistics Centre. The goal is to quickly prepare you for joining in with day-to-day work through ‘learning by doing’. In numerous internal training courses you will gain specialist product knowledge and expertise; in addition, we will also actively support you in your personal development. The training is rounded off with regular trainee get-togethers as well as by working on and presenting projects. Support in preparing you fully for the final examination is standard at Gebr. Heinemann.
First year of training: You will gain an initial insight into the structure and organisation of the Logistics Centre. You will learn everything about receiving and storing goods, monitor warehouse stocks, make adjustments and learn to take into account, evaluate and document operating figures. You will assist in logistical planning and organisation processes, learn everything regarding regulations for packing and transport, ensure the smooth flow of information and materials, account for the networking of logistical functions and contribute to the improvements of cross-departmental cooperation. In addition, you will spend four weeks working in the Destination Hamburg shop at Hamburg airport.
Second and third years of training: You will deepen your knowledge and get to know other departments such as the Shipping, Customs and Freight departments. You will complete your first holiday cover and handle smaller project independently and responsibly. After successfully completing your training to become a Warehouse Logistics specialist you will begin work as a member of the Logistics staff. As a growing and dynamic company, Gebr.
