Your vocational training programme
Over two years you will be trained as a Warehouse Clerk. You will support a number of different departments and will become familiar with the complex interconnections within our Logistics Centre. The goal is to quickly prepare you for joining in with day-to-day work through ‘learning by doing’. In numerous internal training courses you will gain specialist product knowledge and expertise; in addition, we will also actively support you in your personal development. The training is rounded off with regular trainee get-togethers as well as with work at the Destination Hamburg Shop at Hamburg airport. Support in preparing you fully for the final examination is standard at Gebr. Heinemann.
First year of training: You will gain an initial insight into the structure and organisation of the Logistics Centre. You will learn everything about the receiving and storage of goods, unloading and monitoring them. This is followed by sorting and storage of the goods, as well as keeping a check on the warehouse stock. The training also includes learning about quality control and quality assurance measures as well as the correct use of the tools of the trade. In addition you will spend four weeks working in the Destination Hamburg shop at Hamburg airport.
Second training year: You will deepen your knowledge and become competent in all areas of commissioning and packing as well as in dispatching the goods.
After successfully completing your training to become a Warehouse Clerk, you will begin work as a member of the Logistics staff. As a growing and dynamic company, Gebr. Heinemann offers diverse development opportunities and perspectives.
